Traffic accident: The Vaud gendarmerie injures a child – Miscellaneous



Great fright for a police car on Monday around 3:45 p.m. Indeed, a local vehicle of the Vaud gendarmerie struck a 6-year-old child in Villars-Burquin. The little Swiss, domiciled in the village, was injured and taken to hospital in Yverdon-les-Bains. Shocked, the boy suffers from bruises on his face but his life is not in danger.

The accident occurred near the Tevenon beater. The gendarmerie vehicle was traveling on the Route des Fontaines when the boy, who wanted to join a friend on the other side of the road, got on the road outside a secure passage, explains the Vaud cantonal police in a press release on Tuesday. It specifies that the gendarmerie vehicle, an Opel Corsa, did not provide an urgent race.

An investigation was launched to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and to establish responsibility.
