A body was discovered Friday night in the rubble of a fire that ravaged a mountain chalet in Haute-Savoie, AFP learned Saturday from the prosecutor's office in Bonneville.
"Analyzes are underway to formally identify the victim. It could be a man," said the prosecutor of the Republic of Bonneville Patrice Guigon, confirming information from the Dauphine Liberated.
The fire started on Friday evening shortly before 6:45 pm in a chalet of 200 m² located in the town of Demi-Quartier, near Megeve.
No favorite track for the hour
The burning of the building, totally destroyed, caused "the explosion of one or more bottles of gas that were there," says Patrice Guigon, adding that "no track" is currently preferred.
An investigation, entrusted to the Chamonix gendarmerie research brigade and the criminal identification cell of Annecy, was opened to shed light on the circumstances of the tragedy.
