Nice fright this Friday afternoon for the inhabitants of Benquet in the Landes. A very localized tornado crossed their village around 16h: "It happened suddenly, like an accident", explains one of them to our colleagues of
South West.

A dozen houses were hit in a corridor of a few meters. Several roofs were damaged by sudden and brutal gusts of wind, but there were no injuries to the 33 people involved in this mini-tornado.

Firefighters quickly intervened and solidarity among the inhabitants did the rest to repair the damage. While most were able to return to their homes, some preferred sleeping with relatives because of possible infiltration.
