Condemns Assemblyman revives complaint of political prosecution in Ecuador
Quito 9 Nov (RHC) The sentence imposed on the Assemblyman of Ecuador, Yofre Poma, for alleged paralysis of public service during the October protests, revives complaints about the return of political prosecution in that country.
Parliamentary for the bench of the Citizen Revolution, Poma was sentenced to one year and four months in jail for the alleged crime of being part of a group of people who entered the facilities of the head station of the Trans-Ecuadorian Pipeline System, the which was paralyzed for two and a half hours last October 7.
Since the arrest of Poma, there are numerous messages on social networks in which it is indicated that the accusation in his name is NOT founded, as well as violations of due process. (Source: PL)
