First FOV mod brings support for 21: 9

from Julius Kahl
In the community of Red Dead Redemption 2, a first modification has been in progress for a few hours to make sure that you can change the field of view. Also included is the option to turn off cinematic bars for 21: 9 monitors. However, the modification should be handled with care.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally available for the PC since the 5th of November 2019 and enjoys great popularity there. The only downside is the technology, which currently makes problems on some computers. Add to that the disappointment of the enormously high system requirements, which force even high-end cards at high settings to their knees. But the PC offers in comparison to the console versions in addition to the prettier graphics a huge advantage.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Mod brings FOV settings

So the modding community for Red Dead Redemption 2 is already running at full speed. The modder "Rose" has now published a few hours ago, a first modification entitled "FOV mod 3.0", whose name already reveals the grossest. First and foremost, after the installation, the player can set the field of view – or the area the third and first person's camera shows. Also, the modification is the first time support for multiple screens with it.

Another benefit of "FOV mod 3.0" is the ability to cleanly support 21: 9 screens. This means in practice that, for example, the cinematic bars can be switched off in cut scenes and shops. Since this is a cheat mod, players should only use it in singleplayer mode. In multiplayer mode, Rockstar Games explicitly warns that mods may generally be responsible for a ban.
