Jamie Vardy has been voted "player of the month" in the Premier League for his Leicester City performance during the month of October. But the English international striker could have known a different fate if he had agreed to join Arsenal two years ago.
While stationed at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger had tried to recruit Jamie Vardy after the title of champion of England won the surprise by the fantastic team of Leicester led by Claudio Ranieri. Some have hinted that the English striker had refused because of his fear of competition among the Gunners at the time. It is not so.
Vardy preferred to sign a good contract in Leicester
Brendan Rodgers, now manager of Leicester City, says Jamie Vardy made the right choice by staying at Foxes: "It's not because of that that he did not go to Arsenal " , did he declare. "The only thing I know about Jamie Vardy is that he's a team player who loves competition. He is a competitor, I see him every day. He proved he was one of the best strikers in Europe for me. It was probably a few things. He was offered a good contract here, he felt comfortable, stable here with his family in an incredible club. " said the Foxes manager who face Arsenal this Saturday.
