20 minutes – Tap water still unfit for Courtelary

The inhabitants of Courtelary (BE) will have to continue boiling their water. Since Thursday, the water is unfit for consumption in this village of 1500 inhabitants. Samples were taken on Monday but the results are not yet known.

The water samples collected on Monday morning were taken to the Berne laboratory. The results of the analyzes are not yet known, explained Ronald Ermatinger, president of the Water Union. The first analyzes made it possible to identify the origin of the problem which is the source of the Borcairde.

The water has a strong turbidity that prevents the treatment system from functioning normally, explains the municipality on its website. Low contamination (Escherichia coli) was detected. The pipes were purged.
