LONDON (dpa-AFX) – In the UK, industrial production fell again in September. The production had dropped by 0.3 percent to the previous month, said the statistics office ONS on Monday in London. Economists had expected a decline, but on average only by 0.1 percent. It is already the second decline in a row.
In the previous month, the decline in production was more pronounced than previously known. The statistics office revised the decline in the month comparison to 0.7 percent after 0.6 percent.
Compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, industrial production fell by 1.4 percent in September. Here, a decline of 1.2 percent had been expected.
Tighter manufacturing (excluding mining and energy) production fell 0.4 percent month-on-month. A decline of 0.2 percent had been forecast. It fell 1.8 percent year-on-year./jkr/bgf/jha/
