The injury occurred on Monday in the 122-108 loss they suffered at home to the Utah Jazz. Lee underwent an MRI on Tuesday morning and revealed an undisplaced fracture in the right metacarpal room. It will be reevaluated in two weeks, the team said.
"Hopefully it's only two weeks," coach Steve Kerr said before the team traveled to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Wednesday.
Lee joins a long list of injured in some decimated Warriors, which are 2-9 after reaching the final NBA series five consecutive times.
Stephen Curry was operated for a fractured left hand, suffered on October 30. He will undergo another procedure next month to remove nails. The base, twice winner of the Most Valuable Player award in the league, said Monday that he hopes to play again at the beginning of spring.
They also have Klay Thompson out, who is recovering from surgery he underwent on July 2 after a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the sixth game of the NBA Final. Thompson could get lost all season.
Kerr, who assumed as coach for the 2014-15 season, and immediately won a title had never had such a small bench and with few options to make rotations.
"We will see how it evolves," Kerr said. “We will see who is well available and from there we will depart. It's hard. It has been the subject lately, it is not ideal but it is our reality. You can't spend much time regretting, one has to move forward. ”
