Schools closed due to bad weather conditions

Due to poor weather conditions, all elementary and secondary schools on the Fleuve-et-Lacs School Board are closed for the day on November 12th. In the Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup School Board, only schools in the La Pocatiere and Saint-Pascal areas are closing.

All the schools in the Riviere-du-Loup sector remain open, and a decision will be taken during the morning about a possible closure after dinner. Vocational training centers and adult education centers in La Pocatiere and Saint-Pascal also suspended classes.

College Notre-Dame has not provided any information regarding a possible closure, so it is open as well.

Most of the day care services are open, with the exception of Lac-des-Aigles, Lots-Renverses, Sainte-Francoise, Chanoine-Côte (Trois-Pistoles), Saint-Mathieu, Saint-Michel-du- Squatec, Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Saint-Denis and Saint-Gabriel-Lalemant.

Environment Canada yesterday issued a winter storm warning for the KRTB. Between 20 and 40 centimeters of snow are expected in the region. These snowfalls are accompanied by strong winds that will create blowing snow that significantly reduces visibility. The rapid accumulation of snow on the ground could make moving difficult in some places. It is therefore recommended to adapt your driving to changing road conditions, or to postpone any non-essential travel to a later date.
