Has raised its annual concert this time: From a creative night was a whole festival, which was organized together with the local music school.
Rock and Metal set the tone at the Musekschoul and Kulturhaus Kaerjenger Treff, whether at one of the numerous workshops or at performances by bands from Germany and abroad.
"The 'Shadow's Night Asbl' has been in existence since 2017," says Diane Frisch, member of the board of the association and singer of the band ShadoWhisperƧ. "The aim is to promote rock and metal music in Luxembourg. We do this by, for example, offering workshops and organizing the annual 'Shadows' Night'. Above all, the promotion of young talent is very important to us. Our music school also has its own rock band. Classical music education continues to play an important role, but we also attach more importance to the promotion of rock music. "
The young musicians were able to learn from the pros right on the spot. The headliner was the symphonic death metal band MaYaN. The members are no strangers in the metal scene: Founder Mark Jansen became known as the guitarist of the bands Epica and After Forever, while singer Marcelo Bovio was also active on Stream of Passion.
The sound of the nine-member group can be described as Death Metal with symphonic elements. Growls and grunts, techniques from the Metal genre alternate with the vocals of the classically trained singers Laura Macrì and Marcelo Bovio. The name of the band is due to Jansen's fascination for Mayan culture. Recurring themes in the texts are politics, philosophy and current events in the world.
At the end of the evening, Ed Hunters performed and performed the biggest Iron Maiden classics. The band with members from Luxembourg, France, Germany and Portugal has been around for no less than 14 years – and shows that you do not have to be afraid of the dark.
