Munich (AP) – Star coach Pep Guardiola thinks according to his advisor Josep Maria Orobitg not to return to Bayern in the Bundesliga.
The 48-year-old Spaniard is under contract with English football champion Manchester City until June 2021 – despite the recent reports that Guardiola's name had fallen during the Munich search for a new coach. "Pep has good memories of Munich and still friends there, but he has never shown any interest in returning to Germany as a coach," Orobitg told bild.de.
The previous day, the manager of "Spox" and "Goal" was quoted as saying "There's nothing safe in football" and had given hope to those Munich executives who wish to make a comeback for the Catalan. The German record champion is currently looking for a successor for interim coach Hansi Flick, either already for the winter break or from next summer. Guardiola does not seem to be available according to the statements of Orobitg. "Guardiola always fulfills his contracts, I deny all rumors," he said. "Pep is satisfied and very happy in Manchester."
