Switzerland rises from 4th place to 2nd


Switzerland is the global leader in broadband, cloud, AI and IoT, and is ranked second in Huawei's latest Global Connectivity Index.

Huawei has published the Global Connectivity Index for the sixth time. It identifies the potential of four technological Enabler broadband, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) for economic growth for 79 countries worldwide using 40 indicators. Switzerland climbs from 4th place to 2nd place in this ranking and is only surpassed by the USA.

The 40 indicators are applied to the areas of supply, demand, experience and potential in addition to the technological enablers. They also cover topics such as ICT investments, mobile subscriptions, fiber optics, but also eGovernment as well as research & development and IT specialists.

Leader role in 5G attested

In addition to its good infrastructure and broadband penetration, Switzerland scores points as an innovative country, particularly in the area of ​​IoT and in the newly included topic Artificial Intelligence (AI).
