The Netherlands wants to join the German initiative for the European cloud


Company data is now mostly stored at American companies such as Microsoft, Amazon and Google. Germany wants to get a European alternative off the ground, initially together with France. Large German companies such as Bosch, SAP, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bank and Siemens are also involved in the development.

According to Smart Industry (founded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs), the Netherlands also has a lot to offer, because of the experiences with the secure transmission of data in the port of Rotterdam and at Schiphol.
