Toulon transfers the recognition of the Higher Sports Council to Toledo for Sports Week – Club de Castilla-La Mancha


The Samaranch auditorium of the Higher Sports Council has hosted on Tuesday the ceremony of the awards of the European Sports Week that in this year's edition has recognized the work of the city of Toledo, an award that has been collected by the mayor, Milagros Tolon, from the President of the Council, Maria Jose Rienda.

Milagros Tolon said that the prize awarded today "is a recognition to all clubs, entities and institutions" that during the European Sports Week and 365 days a year "collaborate with the City Council to bring sports and physical activity closer to all Toledo and Toledo as a formula of social cohesion and improvement of living conditions ”.

The mayor thanked the collaboration of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha in this initiative and highlighted the management of the Councilor for Sports, Pablo Garcia, to carry out with the team of the Municipal Sports Board, confirming the municipal commitment to strengthen the event in future calls, as reported by the City Council in a press release.

The award presented today, which the mayor has received together with the provincial delegate of Education, Culture and Sports, Jose Gutierrez; the mayor of Ciudad Real, Pilar Zamora, and the mayor of Cuenca, Dario Dolz, also recognized in this act, rewards administrations, educational centers, media and entities for the organization and celebration of the European Sports Week, which He developed in Toledo between September 25 and 29. They have also recognized the director general of Sports, Noelia Perez, and the mayor of La Roda, Juan Ramon Amores, among others.

A total of 25 activities formed the program, in which clubs and sports entities of different modalities collaborated, from orientation to skating, through fencing, hiking, zumba, football, athletics, badminton, golf, beach volleyball, kin-ball, futcesto , datchball, floorball, climbing, go-karts, sliders, parkour, American track, kendo and judo, crosfitt, cycling, swimming and canoeing.

The activities took place in several areas of the city such as the Water Center, the Paraplegics Hospital, the Zocodover Square or the Gymnastics School with the aim of taking the sport out to the street to bring it closer to the citizens and enhance their practice as tool to improve people's quality of life.

Its celebration was possible thanks to the collaboration of the Toledo City Council, the Municipal Sports Board and the Community Board and the participation of the following entities: Toledo Orientation, Los5seti2, Fencing Club Toledo, Mountain Sports Federation of Castilla-La Mancha, Athletics Club Toledo, Badminton Federation of Castilla-La Mancha, Golf Federation of Castilla-La Mancha, Supera Toledo and CD Toletum Kayak.
