Curling: The Swiss win bronze – Sports

The Swiss women's team won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Helsinborg, Sweden.

The CC Aarau girls won in the small final on Friday night 6-5 against Russia.

Alina Patz and her team-mates lost the semifinal in the afternoon to Scotland (2-3) after a very tactical match (6 ends to 0-0), but were able to bounce back to take a continental medal.

Because leaving Sweden without anything would have been a disappointment for the reigning world champions.

This small final was decided in the last end for the Swiss. While the Russians, led 5-3, had managed a two-shot in the penultimate end to return to 5-5, Alina Patz has benefited from the last stone in this end of the meeting and did not miss his blow to register the victorious point.

In men, it was Scotland who won the bronze at the expense of Denmark, beaten 2-7.

On Saturday, from 10 am, the men's team will play the final against Sweden. On the female side, Scotland and Sweden will try to adorn themselves with gold. Sc. D.
