It is done ! The state has announced, Tuesday, December 10, the official sale of the thermal domain to the city of Vichy (Photo: NewsAuvergne).
The thermal domain of Vichy is no longer the property of the State. A memorandum of understanding setting the conditions for this sale was signed Tuesday in Bercy between the Minister of Action and Public Accounts, Gerald Darmanin and the mayor of Vichy, Frederic Aguilera (LR), indicates a statement from the Ministry. A decision that comes after two years of negotiations.
I signed this morning with @Aguilera_Fred, mayor of Vichy, the protocol allowing the state to cede the thermal domain to the city of Vichy.
As I had committed in May 2018, this transfer will allow communities to include the baths in their territory project. pic.twitter.com/azRIpPGQx5

The thermal domain of Vichy was in the fold of the State since 1523. For 500 years, the Vichyssois did not have the mastery of the hydrotherapy. A unique situation in France. The session price of 25 million Euros, "will not weigh on the finances of the city" promises the mayor, Frederic Aguilera. In fact, the loan annuity will be fully covered by the license fee of the operator, the Compagnie de Vichy, approximately 1.7 million Euros. In addition, the municipality will mobilize subsidies (Region, Department …) to facilitate the acquisition.
The thermal domain of Vichy includes not only thermal establishments, accommodation (restaurants, springs, parks, galleries and pavilions, administrative buildings), but also thermal establishments, springs (nine in total), Mercure and Ibis hotels and a few shops. The transfer of ownership should be effective "at the end of the first half of 2020".
